Christian Study Opportunities
Please keep checking back for updates in our Christian Education offerings and special worship and fellowship events.
Sunday School for kids and adults resumes September 13th at 9:30 am with a continental breakfast and a short class session. As Christians…we are meant, designed, and need to be disciples of Christ; our Sunday School is our training ground. We study and ingest what the Bible says about Jesus so that our lives can reflect that new understanding just as the disciples lives did. Without pursuing our own role as a disciple of Jesus we are cheating ourselves out of a full, God-blessed, God-sized life.
We will have two adult classes this fall.
The first is a class for new members and those to be confirmed (teens or adults) taught by the Rev. David Dubay. Anglican Beliefs is a look at who we are and what we believe as Anglicans. tha class will meet int he adult classroom.
The second class is a study of the book The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis." Taught by Mrs. Mandy Turner and Mrs. Lisa Dubay. This is a book that explores the way we react to a God who loves us. This clas will meet in the church parlor.
The children gather around the altar with Fr. David for a short talk on a variety of topics during the 10:30 am service.
Men's Prayer Breakfast
The Men's Breakfast meets weekly at 7:00 am for a fantastic breakfast, prayer and study. All men are welcome to attend.
Men's Ministry, 6:30 pm Tuesday September 8th & 22nd
Our new men's ministry is now meeting on the second and fourth Tuesdays each month. The next Men's Ministry meeting will be Tuesday, September 8th at 6:30 pm. Meetings include supper, study and just some good time together. Men of all ages (including teens) are welcome.
Fill the Wagon Food Collection Ministry
The food theme for September is MAC & CHEESE.
The Fill-the-Wagon food collection ministry is a fun, easy way for us to help others. This ministry benefits Tricounty Family Ministries and the West Ashley High School Food Bank.
Place your nonperishable donation in the wagon in the back of the church each Sunday. They will be blessed as an offering during the service. At the end of the month the food will be donated to either Tricounty Family Ministries or the West Ashley High School Food Bank.
Watch it grow!
Choir expands musical options
Our choir resumes rehearsals on September 9th. This fall we're starting a new Children's Choir open to all kids ages 4 through 5th grade. That rehearsal will be at 6:00pm every Wednesday with regular choir rhearsal following at 6:30 pm.
Come join the fun and get ready to learn new music and sing or
play your hearts out. If you have a desire to sing or play an instrument, we need you. We'll truly be making a "joyful noise to the Lord" this fall.
Just Lunch, second Saturday each month, 12:30 pm
This fun dutch-treat lunch for ladies resumes on Saturday, September 12th. We'll meet at the Crab House, James Island. Please contact Martha Rogers if you can come so she can make the reservation.
Youth Group Dinner,
September 16th, 6:00 pm
Youth group resumes with the annual autobiographical dinner. This year's theme is "If you could be a food, what food would you be?" Teens are asked to bring the food they would want to be; that should make an interesting meal. Bring our friends and join the fun.
Welcome from the pastor
Welcome to Holy Trinity in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I invite you to explore this website to learn more about who we are as a church family and as followers of Jesus.
Of course a great way to find out who we are is to join us on Sunday mornings at either the 8 am or the 10:30am service. If you have any questions about anything on our website or at our church, or if we can encourage you on your walk with the Lord, please feel free to send us an email or call (the number is below).
The mission of Holy Trinity is simple: To bring Jesus to a hurting world and to be a place where we can all grow and mature in the knowledge and love of God.
A note about our worship services: At Holy Trinity the Bible is understood to be the Word of God and the Holy Scriptures are the center of our worship. However, we worship liturgically, which means in a special order that is very old and “Anglican”. That order of worship and many of our creedal statements are found in the Book of Common Prayer. At Holy Trinity you will hear contemporary music as well as traditional hymns.
We have a nursery open during Sunday School and during the 10:30 service and a special Children's Homily during the service.
If you bring your children into the service and they get a little squirmy and make some noise...know that we are okay with that. We understand what you are going through. A wise old pastor once told me that "if the voice of the child is not heard in the church, then the voice of the church will not be heard in the child." I can preach over any crying baby or restless kid...I promise.
We are grateful you've stopped by. We hope to see you on Sunday morning.
Your servant in Christ,
The Reverend David M. Dubay,
