Bible Study & Discipleship Ministries

Adult Christian Education

Adults are offered a variety of opportunities to learn about Jesus Christ and how to live a Christian life. Among these are:

  • Alpha Course
    Sunday mornings, 9:15 am
  • Adult Bible Study, Sunday mornings, 9:15 am
  • Wednesday Night Adult Teaching and Worship
  • Brotherhood of St. Andrew (men), meets monthly, check calendar for meeting date & time
  • Thursday Morning Men's Prayer Breakfast, meets weekly, 7:00 am

Children's Christian Education

Sunday School at Holy Trinity is exciting and fun, designed to interest our children in learning about Jesus Christ and the Bible. A variety of study and activities each Sunday focuses on the Scripture lessons for that day. The class is so much fun the children eagerly return and bring their friends.

During the 10:30 am worship service, children attend a Children's Chapel service then return to take communion and finish worshiping with their parents.

Daughters of the King

Through prayer, service and evangelism the Daughters of the King support the Rector and are an invaluable source of strength in the church. With a servant's heart the members maintain a prayer chain and deliver flowers to the sick.

Study Groups

By study of Scripture, sharing and supporting each other, small groups enable members to grow closer to God and to each other, enabling and equipping them to grow spiritually and apply those principles to their daily lives. They also assist members to become more active in ministry and enable them to witness to others. The small groups focus on Bible Study, sharing, and fellowship.

In-Church Ministries

Acolytes

The adults and children who serve in this ministry area have the responsibility for leading the beginning of the worship service and for assisting the priest in presenting the Gospel to the people and in preparing the communion. Their devoted service truly enhances our worship.

Altar Guild

This quiet behind-the-scenes ministry provides a lovely setting in which to worship and glorify God. From the beautiful altar and lectern hangings to the wafers and wine for communion the congregation's worship is enhanced by the efforts of St. Mary's Altar Guild.

Greeters

A warm greeting makes visitors and members coming to worship feel welcomed and appreciated. The greeters on duty welcome those who come into the church and help them feel comfortable in signing our guest book and in asking for information.

Hospitality

This ministry enables us to grow closer in our relationships with God and each other, to grow spiritually and to use our facilties in a manner that pleases God. We support each other and our church by joining together in the preparation and coordination of scheduled events.

Lay Readers

Lectors aid in the empowerment of the congregation by the Holy Spirit by reading the Word of God, leading prayers and by the ministration of the Holy Eucharist (Communion). Through study they can proclaim the Scripture lessons in a true and meaningful way. Through daily prayer they intercede for grace and for the needs of the church and the world. Through reverent reception and administration of the sacraments they, with the congregation, remember Christ's great love and sacrifice for us.

Music

The music ministry here exists to glorify God - Father Son & Holy Spirit - by leading people in musical worship of Him. We seek to be a church where all styles of music dwell together in the most excellent way. Through weekly rehearsals the choir, praise band, and soloists utilize a wide range of musical genres to grow in musical knowledge. They enhance the worship experience as well as lead the congregations on Sundays and at other services during the year. Anyone is invited and encouraged to join the music ministry. The only requirement for membership is faithful attendance at rehearsals.

Pastoral Care

Caring for the needs of our members, especially the sick and shut-in, is important to keep them connected to the church in times of illness or sorrow. Supporting our Christian family in times of trial makes the whole church stronger. This group visits regularly and takes communion to those who are unable to attend worship services.

Prayer Teams

Prayer is an important part of a Christian life. On occasion all of us need extra prayer support. To assist our congregation, we have two prayer teams who, after communion, can pray individually with those who desire special prayers.

Ushers

Ushers serve God in the worship service by greeting people coming into the church, handing out bulletins and assisting them to find seats if necessary. They participate in the service by collecting the offering and guiding the congregation to the altar rail for communion. Their goal is to make each person feel welcomed, comfortable and appreciated while in our church.

Mission & Outreach Ministries

Cooks for Christ

This is ministry provides support for our families who are experiencing difficulty due to sickness, loss of a loved one, birth of a new baby or other change or crisis in their lives. By providing a home-cooked meal we can show Christ’s, and our, love and lessen their stress a little. Volunteers provide the food items which are frozen and stored in the freezer at church, ready to deliver when they are needed.

Mercy Muffins

Monthly, our parishioners supply muffins that are wrapped, labeled and delivered to the Musc Volunteer Department to be distributed throughout the ICU waiting rooms. The muffins show Christ's, and our, love and prayers for those families waiting and worry through a loved one's illness.
